NY Deer Program

I heard Gary Alt is taking over the deer program.  He's going to kill all your deer for his resume.  Better watch out!!!

My reports and advice are for everyone to enjoy, not just the paying customers.

If that's the case then he is all over, just like s--t. He is also a freelance nature photographer and a partner in (Natural Resource Consultants Inc.) They help folks figure out how to thin out the deer in their areas. He must have learned from his mistakes as he now believes in localized herd reduction  as opposed to statewide. He also conducts nature tours in North America, Africa, and other remote locations. No more pretense of being an avid hunter.

I'm just kidding S-10.  He will be at the pope and young convention next week.  Do you want his autograph?

I realized that as I have been following his career morphing into a tree hugger. I'll pass on the autograph. Must be going to the P&Y meeting to lay claim to being responsible for the latest entries. He probably will forget to mention there were more entries in the books in the five years preceding HR/AR than in the five years since. Only good thing about the HR is I don't have to worry about bumping a deer when I move on a gobbler.

Just because you don't see it, does not mean it is not there.

I will be sure to get a picture of him signed for you.

Yep- Audubon Incite--they are the vocal part of the Audubon which seems to be made up of those who want everything eliminated that interfers with their birding and another group who disagrees with that philisophy. There are about a dozen lies or distortions in that article which I am sure you have noticed. Interesting that Kalbfus said the deer were destroying the forests in 1917---the deer kill that year was 1725. They think it's wrong for the PGC to listen  to the wishes of 900,000+ deer hunters but are demanding they listen to the 28,000+ members of the Audubon. The interesting thing is they demand that the PGC thin the herd all over the state while at the same time refuse to allow hunting on lands they own or control. (DO AS WE SAY NOT AS WE DO) In fact after one of their articles ( Deer in the headlights) I wrote them asking when they were going to let me help them out with their deer problem since my area no longer had one. A few weeks later a lady who identified herself as the editor contacted me for permission to use my letter in their magazine. I don't know if it made it in or not. It would have been last Jul-Aug-Sept. A lot of their own members don't like their agenda which is causing them some problems of their own.

I did not get you an autograph.  There were people everywhere.  I suspect you are highly disappointed.

Anyway ..  I spoke with Jim Walter, a pope and young official scorer for the I-79 corridor area.  He scores, on average 160 bucks a year.  He sets up times and places (sportmans clubs) for hunters to bring in their rack for an official score.   Up until 2003, he averaged 2-3 that would break the 125 mark.  Last year, over 40 broke the 125 mark.

I'd be willing to bet the north central scorers have scored the least pope and young bucks.
