Use it to pay down the deficit! Not sure if all that many people are against shrinking the government. How they are going about it seems to be pretty reckless though. When Clinton did it in 93, it was a 6 year process. Which took 6 months to craft the first phase and had wide bipartisan backing in Congress.
Stimulus checks while inflation ticked up in the past few months does seem to go along with the logic though.
Yeah, well, I have some deficits that need to be paid down and I prefer my economies boiling hot! "Pretty reckless" might be the understatement of the week on here.

I'm in NY so I can comment. At first, Like so many others, I though the toll was going to be a small business killer. Turns out that people started to like the fact that that their destination times are cut in half and not stuck in traffic. And, small businesses are seeing more pedestrian traffic. So, Trump was acting on 2 week old information. Y'all like to blame Fauci but Fauci wasn't the president. What ever happened to the the old saying "The buck stops here"? He's just the fall guy so y'all can shift blame away from the man in charge and onto a subordinate.

This is shaping up to be something our kids and grandkids will have to fight a world war over. Once they are done with our military, our alliances, and military infrastructure we're going to be fukt. This is something that I wasn't expecting.

The #s associated with those "cuts" are massive and unimaginable. Our overpowering influence throughout the world affords us a reality that is unparalleled in human history. This is concerning to me.
I’m EXTREMELY skeptical about cuts in military spending. The House budget already has a $190 billion increase in spending over 10 years, for defense and Homeland Security. Apparently this is the budget Trump likes better (as opposed to the senate budget). I can’t even see DOGE pretending to find much “waste” in existing defense spending because they don’t want to undermine public confidence in the military. They will probably just fabricate a few token programs for stuff they know republicans hate like DEI or trans people (pretty much the same thing they’ve been doing all along), and the next budget will be more of the same like DOGE never happened.

The military hasn't been able to show a balanced budget in many years-if ever, one may well think hundreds if not thousands for coffee cups -hammers and toilet seats is way over the top and thats stuff they can find to balance their budget,,
A fiscal realignment is clearly needed.

Just maybe they can find enough wasted money on unnecessary chit they'll have enough to feed to soldiers on some bases in US.There is actually food insecurity on some of our bases.Many just maybe they can find some money to fix and repair or replace some barracks and family housing many are delipidated. and rat infested along with mold ect. Maybe a few less battleships,a few less ICBM's already have enough to wipe out civilization 10 times.Maybe just mind our own business for a change and not start any new conflicts. Imagine That!!!! LDD- Hard working FBI agents are like hard working police officers--just want to be able to do their jobs. Its the front office chair jockeys who are politically advanced and put in charge doing and ordering the things we see and dont care for--They are the ones who should be looking over their shoulders. If a secret vote were to be taken would bet FBI and blue city cops would all agree--The ones I know in Blue CT certainly would. I only did it for over 28 years and have an inkling and still see folks on the job regularly but am sure someone here knows better---
