Get a kick outa the left screaming Musk might get our pvt info.
Reading headlines over the years it seems everyone but the paperboy has our pvt info already.
At least Musk might not use it to make those twice daily spam calls i get.

Like it or not...

I like it not...but maybe he'll prevail and "save the world from itself"...listened to an interesting interview yesterday where the woman describing him discussed him in those terms...as if he saw himself as the "hero" to save all of humanity.  I hope his motives are altruistic.

For sure I can see it.  I don't know whether Musk is driven by some altruism or just driven to further enrich himself, or some of both.  Maybe he's on a maniacal power trip.

At the very least he has some track record in private industry with Tesla and Space X that you can look at and say that he seems to at least have a token concern about enriching the lives of others and making the world a better place.  More than I can say for most politicians and bureaucrats of my lifetime, whether R or D.

I couldn't say one way or the other if he's trustworthy enough to continue to carry it out for the benefit of America, or if it will prove to be a detriment, or maybe even a catastrophe.  I understand the concern about Musk's power and wealth and the position that he's in.  I understand the unease created by the wrecking ball approach, rather than a collaborative, legislative approach.  I don't think it's ridiculous or even unwarranted to have concerns about it.

Like it or not, Musk IS the oversight now because by bipartisan design there has been very little to none of it and we have a new President who is going to selectively make it happen for his benefit.  Right now it feels very partisan and one sided, but I think there's a good likelihood that as many R's as D's are going to get whacked in the long run.  The alternative is a continued lack of oversight and accountability for both R's and D's because we've seen that a collaborative, legislative approach doesn't work to create accountability and oversight when those collaborating and legislating are the ones that need the oversight and accountability.

Very well stated and pretty much sums up my opinion on it as well. I’d imagine most agree there is a need to eliminate government waste. The direction it is being handled on the surface at least, is a bit concerning. But if handling sensitive material with care, it was likely necessary to have access. It is sort of refreshing in a way that it is finally being addressed though. Decades of talk and no action.

Hoping Trump will make America great again, like Clinton had it. I’d be just fine with him having a victory cigar to celebrate too. Gizzard shad flavored?

Musk has never done a single thing in his entire life that suggests he cares about anything except his own brand, wealth and power. He is very much like Trump in that regard.

It’s widely acknowledged that he has very little technical understanding or any involvement in day to day operations at any company he has ever been involved with.

He is very good at raising capital, generating personal wealth, and gaining notoriety, but beyond that he has not done a single thing to “enrich the lives of others” or “make the world a better place”, unless you count the money he made for other stakeholders of his companies.

He also turned Twitter into a far right cesspool, and is in the process of running it into the ground.

Are you really suggesting a man of Musk’s wealth and power, who wants to make the world a better place, and so he then demonstrates this by… buying a presidency for Donald Trump of all people? Like this is really the best way for the richest man in the world to help people? Consider the utter absurdity of that assertion for a minute.

Musk took big handouts from the US federal government when he was desperate for cash. So keep that in mind while he’s “deleting” federal safety net programs. He’s also a complete hypocrite who is more than happy to pull the ladder up behind because “I got mine, fukk everybody else”.

The last president who knew how to balance a checkbook..
No National debt. In fact, a surplus. A roaring economy despite raising taxes but lowering the CG tax.
Those were the days.

I didn't consider his policy terrible, but I'd suggest even Herbert Hoover would have had a great economy with the tech and 'net boom that happed then

The tech was a spark then, boom has happened since. Throw in the military industrial complex earnings of multiple wars. The economy itself has not slowed and MOST presidents using their tax policies would not have balanced the budget.

It is all about allocation. Under Clinton, corporations paid higher to keep the budget balanced. Which meant share holders didn’t benefit as much though and possibly could have had more growth. Since then and especially under GOP administrations, corporations didn’t pay, deficit skyrocketed and share holders got better returns. Good for retirement plans, extremely excellent for the uber wealthy. Forgot to mention excellent for China, Saudi Arabia and others that are collecting out the rear on the interest they are collecting from our national debt.

Like most things politics, I feel there is a nice middle ground. But not nearly the support in either party to make it happen.

This would be excellent work for the incarcerated to do.

At Rockview, for decades, the prisoners worked the farm grounds of the facility to grow food and raise livestock that was then used to feed the prisoners. It reduced costs, gave them something to do, and taught skills for after release.

Everything I say can be fully substantiated by my own opinion.

I know this punishment is a joke. Have known quite a few people that were assigned C.S. as punishment and never had to do one minute. They were poor people so when you see the rich get punished with C.S. , yeah right
Court-ordered community service is a punishment that requires an offender to perform a set number of hours of community service. It's also known as community restitution.

My buddy is as MAGA as you can get other than having a little soft spot for the immigrants. He sold me his AR not long ago. Said he only bought it because Biden got elected "While we still can" I said the same to him because Trump was ready to take over 🤗

I never made close to what those Immigrant 's do per hour. They get paid over twice the minimum wage.

My theory on the Trump/Gaza thing. The guy is clearly hellbent to take over another country. Maybe if he insists on the worst country in the world to occupy, Greenland or Panama doesn’t look like such a bad idea? Can’t we just rename countries and be good with that?
