I really hope that wasn’t a VIP transport chopper
My understanding, the gold top (which this was) are the ones that fly VIP's It's also my understanding, no inexperienced pilot would be put that unit. as far making political hay (DEI an' all'at) modern polytiz follows "Rahm's Rule" "never let a crisis go to waste" KTF

Just read an article that stated there were (3) aboard the Black Hawk which seems like minimum crew requirement, so no VIPs.

I don't know much from nuffun' P'Fish, but I believe they would be a poor choice with all the background lighting of city lights as well as plane lights early reports, vid and radio transmissions from ATC (air traffic controllers) and pilots, sure looks like a grave and tragically unfortunate error on the chopper's part. Anything about Army missions/night vision, I know nothing.
My comments were just tinfoil speculation only. I know some things about the area from the few years that I lived down there. My apartment was about 2-3 miles from the crash site. The base of the runway has a park that you could watch the planes land. Also has an inlet to a tidal pool that the shad and stripers would venture into around the same time as the cherry blossoms. It was my go to local spot. I moved there out of college knowing no one, so I fished a bit to pass time and avoid going to bars. It worked during the week…
My office was right outside of Ft Belvoir and worked on a few projects for INSCOM, both there and Ft Meade. Never for them in the Pentagon, but I was a badged contractor when I lived there. Low level clearance, would have red lights flashing in secured rooms with everyone standing in front of their computers. So obviously no insider info. All of these command locations are public info. Beyond what Google says they do, I know nothing.
I also know from talking to past clients at the old Bolling AFB, they told me that flying in DC area is one of the most restricted. Just about every military base around doesn’t allow planes in their airspace, which there are many in the DC area. About half of the government buildings in DC do not allow either. They were cleared (F16) and so were the Marine VIP helicopters. F16’s were relocated to JB Andrews since I was there.
So, do I know a good bit about this? No. Just know a good bit of other useless stuff!
I do wonder if these helicopters had to follow the restricted airspace? If not, why are they going into the limited flight paths that the commercial pilots must stay in. If this was a training mission, WTF were they training? I guess maybe an emergency evacuation of a VIP one of the buildings. But why not have a 5 minute window that they shut down flight paths for commercial airlines. Maybe it was the DEI mandate to hire more people with psychiatric issues to be air traffic controllers and station them at possibly the most sensitive commercial air tower in the country. If the orange clown is correct, that is just flat out concerning. If he is not correct, possibly more concerning.

Pete was on recently saying there were elevation requirements on the flight and that it seems Trump was correct initially. He also said they do wear night vision. Face it they likely have much more info than we do

Seems there was only one ATC doing the job of two with these aircraft. Apparently there is a huge manpower shortage in the field that's has been there for years now and its not uncommon to have to multitask. Mighta caught up with them on this one.

4:20, do I have to stop and take a puff? Dude doesn’t know where the Pentagon is… Why the heck didn’t they take that “Route 3”? Completely avoiding most of the DC sensitive areas and commercial flight path. Looks more direct for where they started to end too? This is on the opening of the video. I paused it and looked at the path to the west.

if we ask the ATC union and workers, I'm sure they agree they need more. Wonder what Elon and the administrators that hire and fire think? nevertheless, I haven't heard any reports that ATC (or lack of) were part of the reason for this particular tragedy sure looks like the helo's error KTF

dano That water doesn't reach LA, anyway. It stops 100 miles short of LA and had no impact on putting out fires.
That's not true.
The Federal water aqueduct run by the US Army core or engineers. Not the State run canal which runs close to LA and is flowing.
They're both tied together. https://www.california.co...ut-san-luis-reservoir/
They both originate from the same source but operated independently. The Federal operated aqueduct ends in Bakersfield according to my friend in Bakersfield and where I got this info. He lives about about 100 miles north of LA . I don't believe Pacific Palisades tie into either aqueduct where the water was needed. On the bright side, the farmers in the central valley appreciate the extra water.
LADWP, which serves the Palisades, is tied into the State Water Project. In fact they get most of their water from the SWP. The part of the Fed aqueduct your friend in referring to gets its water from the west slope of the central Sierras, not the delta. Although Trump does not appear to be an expert on CA’s water infrastructure, he certainly seems to understand it much better than both you and your friend combined.

bigfoot Okay. Well we supposedly have the largest coal reserves. Yea, that should count for something. 😂
Well, if we get improve this process https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coal_liquefaction to get its carbon footprint equal to or less than traditional petroleum manufacturing processes, and the cost close to it, we should be sitting pretty....
I believe the US is also ranked number 4 in natural gas reserves.
