9/11--- again

NEVER EVER FORGET-
The sights, sounds and smells of early 9/12 when I arrived at Zero will forever be with me and stamp the above firmly in my mind

I can’t imagine having to deal with something like that. I remember where I was when I first heard about it and other events of that terrible 😢 day.

I was fishing at Ellis Cove with a friend,we took a break to try a different spot as there was very little action there, when I turned on the car the radio started and we sat there for a bit until i looked at my friend and said "what the F##### are they talking about"?After awhile we packed it up and went home,I had no desire to fish with that on my mind.

I also was there the morning after.  The photos and video don't compare to the reality of being there.

The day of 9/11 I was directed to go with a fellow officer and take the police launch to a county owned park on the Hudson River.  We positioned the boat mid river off of the nuclear facility at Indian Point.  We remained at that location until after dark.  To this day I think about what were we to do had a plane ditched into one of the reactors cooling towers.

God bless those lost and those still suffering from the long term effects of service at Ground Zero.
