Place to stay

Need some info for plans of fishing in the bay. Haven’t made the trip for years. I always made it a day trip but I don’t have that in me anymore. Looking for a place to stay that’s boater friendly. Doesn’t have to be the cheapest or most expensive. Just clean. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

i really like the clarion inn right by the entrance to presque isle. stay there a time or two a year for steelhead fishing usually. very clean and nice and reasonable rates with the fisherman discount. nice breakfast buffet as well as indoor pool and hot tub if you have kids.

never noticed if there’s dedicated boat trailer parking there but the lot is big and i would imagine not too many people staying there right now.

Thanks for the reply. Trying to put together a plan for spring it will be here before you know it. Enjoyed the smallmouth bite in the bay along with about a million others. Haven’t been there in a while but I’m sure there’s probably more now! Any knowledge or advice on early bay perch in spring. Not trying to be “spoon fed”. I have went out deep but I have a small motor and with age my courage isn’t what it used to be.

i mostly stick to the tribs for fishing. steelhead in the fall and winter and smallies in the spring. once in awhile we’ll wet a line in the bay but it’s from shore. so I got nothing for ya on perch.

Just an FYI, there are a few youth soccer tournaments in Edinboro that usually bring in a lot of teams/parents around the same time as the small mouth bite. It ends up booking a lot of the Erie hotels, especially near Splash Lagoon. I think the hotels realize they can up rates those weekends too. There are at least two tournaments and one I believe is a boys weekend and girls weekend. So likely 3 weekends that might have packed up hotels. PA West Soccer holds one. I am not sure who holds the other. Search Edinboro soccer tournament and likely find them.

Only if you line the bed of your truck with 12” of straw. If you want to be comfortable at least.
