It is turkey season right? Shouldn't we be ****ing about the bugs instead of layering clothes to stay warm? Woke up to snow on the ground this morning!

Snow, bugs, too green, too brown, whatever. I enjoy everyday I have the opportunity to chase spring turkeys. They were gobbling purdy darn good in cold & snow this morning. No trigger time today. Only one tag left and I'm in no hurry to fill it.

I’m glad you included a photo of your gobbler or I would have though I stumbled into the wrong website — lol.

Been an interesting two days. Yesterday I set up in a hay field and had a gobbler start working in right at daybreak. He never gobbled from the roost and didn't gobble on the ground. He came to 100 yards and hung up on me. Never heard another bird all morning. Today I went back to the same hay field and set up where he hung up on me. He was a no show. No other gobbling on the property I was hunting but there was fair gobbling before fly down off in the distance.

To-day 3 more birds were taken by my buds, 2 in Wash.cnty, that made 5 for 5 for the ones that hunted there & 1 around Keystone state park. That leaves 2 guys that haven't got their first birds yet. To-days sunshine must have had the birds on the go.  sam

The birds were moving today... saw 2 small flocks near roadsides on back roads in southern Clarion County, both were near creek beds, but dont know if that was just coincidental.  We had 3 nice toms taken off our property by youngsters on the mentored youth saturday. I have seen 2 distinct flocks on the property by our barn, one flock had over 25 birds in it.

Here is bird #2. I used my new E-Bike on this hunt. This guy was bigger than the first. Nice hooked spurs and a 10 1/2 inch beard. Shot at 6:10 in 2A.

Congrats on bird 2 Gene. Nice photo.

Did I mention I'm jealous... over the bike? 😞

Thanks. I wasn't sure about the e-bike, but the more I use it, the more I really like the thing. It certainly makes accessing some areas a lit quicker and with the pedal assist and throttle, you don't break much of a sweat, even on modest hills.

We saw ebikes in use on the bike trails down south. Mostly by senior bikers. Nice to see the older generation able to get back on a bicycle.

Going to be interesting to see if "no motor vehicles" will be enforced. I hope not, folks were having a good time.

Take care stay well.

Seems pretty slow from most reports I am reading. Not much action in this thread either. I took my nephew out Monday and we worked one for a bit but he wouldn't come closer than 100 yards. He never gobbled from the roost. Later in the morning, we heard one gobbling pretty good from a hay field. We headed that way but could never locate him once we got there.

I’m not sure all that many people have been out hunting. As you mentioned, little traffic on this thread and I personally only know of two people who went out.

It’s been quiet around my place. I’ve only seen a few hens in the last week or so. I have seen a few cars parked on my way to work but haven’t heard of any successful hunter.

Went out last Saturday. Managed to call in 2 red fox. They came in on my buddies side. He's real green when it comes to Turkey hunting, and waited an hour before he told me. Might head out all day on this Saturday.

Things are getting very good in my neck of woods. Hunting pressure is dwindling. Last Saturday we worked a few birds later in the morning with no interference. I've had birds gobbling late afternoon/evening the past two days. Still not ready to part with my last tag just yet.
