Kayak Floats Through President

I plan on kayak fishing the Upper Allegheny in early August, and I was possibly interested in dropping my kayak in and hitting the waters around President.  Are there any outfitters in or around President that run floats through there?  How's the smallie bite been through that area?  Very interested in getting on a good smallie bite up there, so any input is appreciated.

Google Kayak/Canoe Rentals President, PA. and you should see listings for West Hickory and Tionesta.

Tube bodies  1/8 ounce and larger are great  locator baits as are curly tails.

Live bait, softshell crabs or Hellgrammites (my favorite) guaranteed to put some "bronze backs" in the boat.

    Good times and tight lines.

We always did well on rebel crawfish and single colorado spinnerbaits around tionesta and tidioute for smallies. Also jointed rapalas. Just be ready for a musky bite in the deeper areas!

Yeah, I did a search for outfitters in the area, and they all seem to have floats that don't include that area.  A search on here had come up with mention of a good stretch of fishing in the area that was "below the canoe rental", but could never locate said rental.
One thing I DID find after I originated the post, was a link to paddling.com that made mention of the "President PA boat launch".  Apparently, there is (or was.  I haven't confirmed it still exists) a small pay launch across from a church, down there.  There's a $5 fee that you drop in a box at the launch sign, and you are to park back behind the church, all the way back.  Stumbling across a PFBC reference to the same launch showed it at a different spot on the map, so I'm not sure which it is.  I'm now doing the best I can to validate it's existence and location.
I want to thank you guys for replying and adding your input.  Much appreciated!

Allegheny Outfitters???    Mentions the same boat launch in President.  They also claim they cover 107 miles of the river.  Maybe worth a try.  Good luck.

Link to their launch sight maps.

Yeah, I saw that. I know they mention President, but none of their day trips seem to go there. Only a 3 or 4 day float, and I don't have that kind of time.

I saw that, too.  Didn't see anything about kayak/canoe rentals or shuttle service, but that doesn't mean they don't.  I think what I'm gonna do is a single point launch from the President Boat Launch, and paddle up, or float down, as needed, so long as current flow isn't too rough.

I was thinkin maybe a launch for a fee. Heck even a "primative camp sight" for a weekend if they do have a launch.

Great info...I thought that the campground there was no trespassing for some reason, but its great to know they have a fee-launch there.

If you're speaking of Kibbe's Island Campground just down river at Hunter Station..... I am not knowing, if they still have a launch or if it is available to non-campers.

Not even sure if they have primative style camping.

Try calling Forest Hardware, on the main drag through Tionesta. Was up there earlier this week and believe they had a canoe / kayak rental sign out front. It's worth a shot......

I know you're looking near President, but maybe they let you haul the things away yourself....

FYI - anyone  familiar with the area, looking to launch at Nebraska Bridge - be warned, if the "Road Closed" signs are up, the Corps of Engineer folks are writing citations for being down there. FoCo Sheriff dept just giving verbal warnings.....
Tough having fun up there anymore (thank the dang Ohesian who submerged his car this past winter)
