Strange catch at Shenango Lake
Fished the lake, around the 846 area and was surprised to catch a rainbow trout. Hit a jig and nibble. Took a pic and released it.

Why, that's just wonderful, Chauncy. BTDT was right. Now we'll probably need a trout stamp to fish Shenango!

😏 Chauncy long time no see, you're lookin good. 🍻 Definitely keep that picture, you may hold the record for being the first angler ever.... to prove me right. lol But really, pretty awesome to be the first angler recorded, (that I know of) to catch a trout in the Shenango River Lake and in the 846 area to boot. I was passing over the Rt 18 causeway about 6:30 PMish today and gosh the water looked so good.

Already sent the photo to Darl Black. He may know what to do to follow up on this. I feel honored proving you right BTDT. And there's no way i'm paying for a trout stamp to fish my crappie lake.

I'll be right there with ya Ken if and when, we need take a stand. I have a feeling we won't be alone.
Unfortunately I have a gut feeling, the PFBC is popping corks on champagne bottles, in celebration of their success.
My boat is still buried in a storage garage but each day grows closer for her freedom. Hope to see you on the water, some day soon.
Good times and tight lines.
PS Very nice pictures.👍

That they did aaaaaand now, so is the lake where all who fishes, will eventually need a trout stamp which can (will) will double in cost. Got your state representative on the phone....... yet? OK, how about emails?

I'd think that the predators in the lake would be sitting at the inflow just eating those pelletheads like candy. Nomnom troutfest!

wont need trout stamp if it isnt "approved trout water''. figure thousands of panfish make it past predators, a trout could too. maybe not for long.

a few trout are caught in the lake most years, historically the little shenango has been the source.
