I received my 1st round back August 11th, that is the earliest I recall ever receiving one. Was awarded my 3rd 2D tag yesterday. Almost time to reload the freezer.

Two in hand and one on the way. Awarded 3 and plan on letting the 6.5 Creedmoor do some barking. I've been very conservative about shooting does since the HR started. I would have thought by now PGC would have adjusted the HR but if they don't care.......well. We all have different opinions about the deer herd some think it's great others feel it's in trouble. I got 6 bucks within my back yard woods and only one is legal and not very big. Looks like a lot of fawns survived from last year's EHD disease.

I still haven't got mine in the mail yet. Everyone I know has gotten their 1st round by now, including my dad who lives right next door. I checked the site and the court houses have until Sept. 10th to send them out. BH

With the problems of getting the correct sized paper, program changes and issuing agents forced to buy new updated printers it wouldn't surprise me to hear, a delay in the permits being mailed. If them pink envelopes was anything like "pink slips" I'd a had mine, months ago.😳 I have a story (IMAGINE THAT" 😱) which goes like this. For years (and years) I have been filling out the applications according to instructions and in doing so, often chuckled at the need for a telephone number. Welp this year I found out not all county treasurers are the same. Many treasurers offices would just stuff your application back into the return envelope if anything questionable was found on the app. Not that "I" would ever make a mistake mind you.😏 But it seems this year one of the numbers of my CID was not easy to determine if it was a "6" or a zero. My CID number contains 2 zeros followed by a "6" so I received a call to verify the actual number. How gooder is that? Stupid number "6"😡

My buddy forgot to sign his check one time and he got a call asking if it was okay to cash or something like that. I think they wanted to sell licenses quickly.

I'm guessing I better send in my application if I want to get one for one of the kiddos to use.

Got my 2D today and my 2F a couple weeks ago. Have not used a doe tag in quite a few years. Kids are about on their own and wife is a vegetarian mostly. I still give some to kids however I basically eat the whole deer myself. Ummm chops, roasts. deer burger, bologna, and last year kielbasa oh my. Last year after harvesting my buck I decided I would harvest a doe. I got in a stand and out came a fawn. Little to small decided to pass. Where is the rest, come on now you are not alone. There you come its mom. and she walks up to little one and little one proceeds to lick moms face and mom is doing the same to little one, oh grief now they are nuzzling each other. I guess I do not need more venison that bad and sat and watched them for few minutes until they wandered off. I got down and went home and decided I had plenty venison. What is happening to me in my old age? Actually I have always had trouble harvesting does but with hungry family I stocked the freezer. Much rather harvest those bucks that abandon their young with no child support and fight rivals for does "affection" and that's a generous word for their intentions.

Hey BloodyHand, When I was young I often ate at a friends house and his Mother made a Burger Soup that was delicious I believe she made it with venison. I recently asked him if he ever got the recipe from her and he replied regretfully that he hadn't. Do you make yours with a tomato base with other vegies?

I do. I use deer burger. 2 cans whole peeled tomatoes ( cut em up ) 1 can 8 oz i think tomato sauce 4 large potaoes 6 large carrots 2 cans of green beans 1 can of corn 4 beef bulion cubes italian spices 4 heapin tablespoons of mniced garlic Get all that boiling, takes about an hour to cook the carrots and potatoes half an onion and 2 lbs. of deer burger, fry this in a pan. put it all together when your carrots and potatoes are cooked. Might have to add a little water if it's too stew like, You need a big pot for this. BH

Thanks BloodyHand I will definitely try your Beer Burger recipe. I started the recipe post hoping you would share your recipe. I sure loved my buddies mothers recipe that sounded similar.

Very yummy but a little acidic which reminds me I put in 2 heaping table spoons of sugar to help reduce the acid. Take your tummy pill before you eat or keep a few Tums around for later if needed. Oh, instead of crackers or bread, we ( me and Pops ) eat it with Jumbo sour dough pretzels. BH
