Wilhelm no motor zone still a thing?

On Wilhelm there used to be a section that was electric/paddle only, I want to say maybe West/North of the 79 bridge.  Is that still a thing?  And am I right that electric is okay there or is it paddle only?  Searching a bit but haven't found it yet.  Thinking I might sneak up there with the round fatboy not_kayak.

Looks like there's some access off Midgeville Road way up there in the back.  BTDT... you buy a kayak yet?  :)

Its still there. The railroad ties that used to go across are gone. Its only marked with a bouy that says boats propelled by electric motors are permitted. Theres a dirt launch right at the border between motors and electric.

Geez Sam, I would like to get one of those things but I'm afraid after using the yak the first time, it would be sitting in the front of my house as flower box.  lol       Sure ain't hard to find one to buy, the things are for sale everywhere!!!!

There is a launch sight with parking on Midgeville Road along with a dock, the last time I was there.  (many moon ago)  Now days I launch off of #3 and turn right using gas til I hit the electric only section.  Sandy Creek provides some deeper water along the south shoreline from Midgeville RD to the 'big island' where you also will find deeper water.  Many of the stumps are no longer above water so be careful, I know a few guys that's gotten hung up on those things and I don't mean with fishing line.  Stupid stumps!!

Them stumps can be a serious problem with getting stuck especially for the bigger boats.   Been a few moons back when I took a fella fishing in my Scanoe, on his first journey, above "the logs".  Enjoyed the day til we got caught up in a hard wind that had us bouncing off stumps, like we was in a pin ball machine.  No electric motor back then, just paddled our asz off..... to no avail.

Would not recommend jumping out of the boat and try pushing your boat off one them stumps, without first testing the waters.  Not only are there deep pockets to be found, but straddling a submerged stump just don't sound like fun.

Deep pockets?  The whole place was deep!  Well, the parts I was in.  That's why it was great.  I only donked into one stump and as predicted it went just fine.  I slightly worried about my trolling motor though, since I don't have spare parts and that's a LONG hike back to the launch against the wind.
