x-bow hunting in the cold

I was talking to a guy at the range this afternoon & he told me about his x-bow's limbs shattering while he was cocking it,I don't know the brand but the company replaced it right away. I am wondering if that happens often in the extreme cold? I had that happen to me once with a wooden long-bow & was told that that happened because I tried to string it too soon after leaving the warm house. I thank GOD that I didn't lose an eye.    sam

Never did have that happen. Had my limbs hit a tree branch when I fired one time and broke the limb cups.
