Kennerdell, PA Catfish Guide?

Hello Everyone,
Looking for a unique gift for a friend.  He has often mentioned he wanted to hit up Kennerdell for catfishing?  I am not familiar with the area.  Are there any (real) guide services that would do catfish guide trips? ((For folks who aren't familiar w/ the area or lack a boat))  TIA

I don't know this guy and have never fished with him, but I read his reports in quite a few different places.  He guides on that area of the Allegheny.  Nothing specific about catfish on his website, but he may be willing to do a cat trip if you ask, or at least point you in the right direction if in fact there is somebody in that area that does catfish trips.  Most guides on the Allegheny that I've read about target musky, walleye and smallmouth.

I fished the Kennerdale area two weeks ago. Beautiful stretch of river. Hoping to catch some Bass or Walleye.....nothing.The river was nice and clear, but there were tons of loose seaweed tangles floating on top. Made it almost impossible to fish. Almost every cast was tangled in floating strips of weed. Fished right near the Kennerdale bridge area. I'm not a regular there just decided to try an old spot. There is a small store across the bridge that may be able to recommend you some info.

If you have a facebook account, maybe look up the local catfish clubs and ask in there. 3 Rivers Catfish Club is one, I know of one in Beaver County too but that's too far away. He may end up meeting a friend he can fish with more than once.

I've never seen an Allegheny River catfish guide advertise, I have seen them for Susquehanna and Erie for catfish, registered with the state and insured captains. Most Allegheny River guides do muskie and smallmouth but may do catfish

My buddy has a camp and jet boat at the presidents pool in that area.  We fish Kennerdale, Warren and Tionesta area.  I've probably been on a dozen trips there.  I use live chubs/riffle runners/blue sides caught on the river and night crawlers.  Along with some artificials.  We have never once put a catfish in the boat.  We have stayed out at night and tried cut bait a few times without a single hit.  Beautiful area, but I don't think it is the place for a catfish guide.

^^^ try using rock bass or bluegills, near structure, in river bend pools, 1-3 oz. of weight & rods that can handle what you're tossing.  You're not using the right bait for flatheads, you should've caught a bunch in 12 trips.  Flatheads don't eat like channel cats, use much much bigger live baits.  There used to be a poster here who consistently hammered BIG flats around Kennerdell using a bike & cart off the rails to trails trail.

Try the lower end of Oil City pool near Reno.
