I always wanted to hunt the propagation area I saw some tremendous bucks during my duck hunting days. PGC just sit around thinking of ways to create revenue. I got a better idea, cut doe tags, cut deer seasons let the herd rebound. When there's deer to see in the woods more hunters will come. I foresee a big pay to play in the PGC future. Oh well I saw it all,the good, the bad,and the ugly.

PGC is circling the drain. The minute the impose State Game Land User Fee and Pheasant Stamp, is the day thousands quit buying licenses.

Thousands already have quit hunting and most if not all of them are those that spend their money on hunting related items.

Many that do remain today, will soon be spending their money on electronics and go hunting Pokemon.

Too bad for the PGC their programs didn't involve tactics for competing with todays electronics.

this $10 NONREFUNDABLE application fee is getting a little sickening now they what to squeeze money out of the pymy controlled area, by charging a $10 NONREFUNDABLE fee for the yearly deer hunt inside the management area.  less guys but a more quality hunt is the garbage they are trying to cram down every ones throat. and to cover the cost of the drawing.it already was a quality hunt , that's why 1300 applications are sent in, for a chance to be drawn. at $10 times 1300 , that $13,000.00 to send out 84 envelopes at roughly $.50 postage or a total of $42.00   so now we are still ahead $12,958.00 ahead under the pretense of a better hunt ? let,s say they need a few people to over see the drawing, lets say 4, give them the benefit of the doubt and give them $20 an hour for eight hours= $160.00 times four people, equals $640, now we are at $12,618.00 ,  do you see where this is going. they are throwing their little tantrum because they didn't get the approval to make the decision on how much and how often to rise the license fees by them self . should they have gotten a license increase ? yes I believe they should have, within reason!  But not let the child decide how much and how often he can reach into the candy jar and take out.   on another note look at the $10 nonrefundable fee for the elk drawing,  it is much much larger ,gas royalties, logging royalties .is the money being used wisely ? thousands spent on a bobwhite quail study, just for someone to tell you there are none ! they could of asked the many sportsman clubs for their input on that, it would have been a lot cheaper for the same answer. I'm done ,I guess, it's just frustrating

Dontcha's know, we're suppose to be calling our legislators and stomping our feet demanding a general license fee increase so the PGC won't pick on groups having special interest.

How about the PGC invoke a special fee for use of crossbows, auto loading rifles and see where that gits em?

Please don't give them anymore ideas. BTDT. Look for more pay to play. Guess who the big spenders will be not the youth or mentor hunters. Hey I'm all for the mentors. I wish my son had it,back then I'm pretty sure youth squirrel and he could shoot a doe on Saturdays. I'm jealous hell I wish we had a youth or mentor hunt. PGC opened a can of worms,I definitely see a X bow license of some sort, pheasant stamp, game lands stamp, all license increase, and possibly a special weapons stamp to up the ante. There are some nuts like me that buy everything and apply for a elk tag. The only thing I haven't bought on a regular basis is the bear tag,I probably bought 4or5 in my life.

Yep. Adding fees is a double edged sword. I bet they come out on the losing end of it if they impose some of these fees.

The BOC member for my area sent an email back to me about the user fees...he was quick to point out it is only "talk" at this point....but I sense the BOC is hellbent on adding revenue streams outside of the legislature.

It's that time of year for another battle of the minds. This round it's the mindless PGC throwing fodder againt the wall to see what sticks....... pitting hunter against hunter.

I thought the opening of those areas was to lower the deer population there. Does not sound like quality hunts will accomplish that goal.

    Treesparrow,
The original intention of the hunt was for that reason but since the implementation of HR and the  2013(I think) summer of EHD. The herd has been reduced.
Now they're just trying to make money, I'm surprised they haven't charged for the goose blinds but then they can't fill them for free anymore.

     F. C., Ok makes sense. I am also not clear on the emphasis on Geese. Are they providing habitat for Geese not just providing hunts. Why not use the area to work a Pheasant and Quail recovery area. What a perfect environment for both.
