Salmon Fishing

So I've decided that next year I want to try salmon fishing in New York. I've gotten fairly decent at steelhead here in PA. I want to start planning and learning now but I can't find much on the area or what works, how to fish, etc. I can't imagine it's much different than steelhead fishing but still I'd like to have some knowledge beforehand. Any assistance is greatly appreciated in advance.

Many people had the same idea as you over the past few years. Erie fishing isn't attracting the tourists anymore. You can catch them on a variety of things when they are fresh

Lot of good info there, thanks! I don't consider myself a yawker but hey ya never know lol. No in all seriousness though I take what I do very seriously and try always to do my best as a sportsman, hell I'll even go as far as to help a guy land a big fish when he didn't think having a net on hand was a good idea.

People are catching lots of trout on Oak Orchard at the Point right now. Using mostly Cleos and Moonshines. Some salmon are being taken as well. Give it a week, and they will be running.
