Clarion River

Gonna be camping with the family for a few days this weekend in Cook Forest State Park.  We take our fishing gear everywhere and my boys love to fish.

What's biting this time of year in the river in that stretch?  I assume smallmouth, channel cats and maybe some carp.  I've read about the trout fishing in the upper stretches, but don't think we'll travel far from the campground.  Just wanting to know what we should be targeting in that area.

That's the list.  Smallies mostly, I'd bet.  Water's low & super warm, might even be over 80 degrees that far downriver or close to 80.

Worms will get you bass and catfish. I'd bring tubes and jigs with crayfish trailers and focus on bass. Don't forget top water lures in early am and dusk
