Triple Surgeon's Knot

The triple surgeons knot is probably one of the easiest knots to connect your tippet to your leader. Its also quite strong. While not quite 100%, it will do the trick. And when you are out on the water, sometimes you want to tie up your rig quickly, to keep yourself on the water longer.

Difficulty: Easy
Time: Fast
Strength: Medium
Usefulness: Attaching two pieces of monofilament or flourocarbon.

Do you think the triple is stronger than the double? Often as it is getting darker and I need to change my tippet I will just resort to the double Surgeon's knot instead of a blood knot.  It is a lot easier to tie in waning light and it seems as strong as the blood knot.

I always used the double.  Never tried the triple.  The triple may be a little bit stronger than the double.

I don't know, I never tie the double, so I cannot compare.  I will try on my next trip and see what happens.
