2016 CANADOHTA LAKE 2 DAY FISHING DERBY

ICE FISHING TOURNEY UPDATE: The dates of the Canadohta Lake ice tourney have moved. The tournament will still be a two-day tourney, but it will now be held Saturday, February 20 and Sunday, February 21, 2016, pending good ice. Stay tuned to Timberlandbait.com for the latest updates!

Date: February 20 & 21, 2016

Fishing Times: 7am start on Saturday to 3pm finish on Sunday.

Prizes: Prizes at 3pm at boat launch on Sunday.

Registration Fee: $20 (includes lunch on Saturday only).

Registration: Buy your registration ticket at bait shop at 36320 Dutch Hill Rd. Union City, PA 16438.  Call 814-694-3474 with questions. Registration is at the bait shop all day Thursday, February 11 and Friday, February 12 from 8am-9pm or Saturday, February 13 as of 5am. If you can't fish Saturday, but can fish Sunday, that's fine.  You can buy your ticket Thursday, Friday, Saturday, or Sunday morning as of 5am at the bait shop.  If you need to register on Saturday or Sunday, go to the bait shop; you can't get tickets at the boat launch. You may register any time Saturday or Sunday (i.e., you don't have to be registered by 7am...if you show up at 11:45am or 1pm or 3:59pm on either Saturday or Sunday and want to register, that's fine--go to the bait shop).

Optional 50/50 Drawing: You may buy a single ticket  for $5.  One ticket only per person.  You will include your name and phone number on the ticket.  Drawing to be held at 3:00pm at boat launch on Sunday.  Winner need not be present.  Tickets may be purchased at the bait shop on Friday or Saturday or Sunday.

Fishing: Absolutely no fishing prior to 7am on Saturday.  Jerry will be riding around checking.  Pennsylvania state law limits you to 5 fishing lines per person, and you must attend to your fishing lines at all times.  Said differently, you can't leave your lines in Saturday night (overnight) unless you are sleeping on the lake and tending to them.  We are telling you this because the Pennsylvania Fish Commission has patrolled previous years' ice tourneys, and ticketed lots of fisherman for having more than 5 lines or leaving lines unattended.  The fines are hefty.  Prizes awarded for largest, legal (according to PA State fishing regulations) fish in various categories Musky, Walleye, Northern Pike, Crappie & Perch. Fish at your own risk**.  Timberland Bait encourages catch and release fishing.  Fishing concludes at 3pm Sunday.

Bait: Beat the rush, and get your bait Thursday or Friday between 8am and 9pm or as of 5am Saturday or Sunday morning.

Protocol: If you are fishing for large game fish prizes, put your fish on a stringer (sold at the bait shop) and call Jerry's cell or use a walkie-talkie so he can drive over and check out / measure your fish.

Walkie-talkie: channel 4
