Very heavy and with a crust on top. I threw out some cracked corn for the doves and it skidded across the snow. It won't be quiet walking for sure but you sure can see except in the pines and hemlocks where it is sticking.

Wow, that interesting Mr. Crappie.   Especially since they had apparently gotten off to a decent start, especially weatherwise etc.   http://www.charlestondailymail.com/article/20141124/DM01/141129579

Something else I found a bit interesting....   in the article it says they have around 330,000 hunters in WV.    Last year they had a reported harvest of 113,159 total deer!

...We in Pa, with over what is it now, like 900K hunters or whatever, reported a paltry 110,000 deer as harvested.

In ohio, a little over half the hunters we have reported more deer harvested than in Pa.   In Wv, a little over a third of the hunters pa has reported more deer harvested than Pa hunters did..

Sounds like either we have less deer than the two neighboring states, we for some reason have a HUGE  difference in the rate of reporting noncompliance of harvested deer compared to other states right beside us, or they are just MUCH better hunters than Pa hunters.

    hmmmm.

Plenty of snow on the ground in my little part of 1-A this morning but, alllllllll gone by 2:00 pm.

So were the deer.............

Amish families will be putting on the drives tomorrow.  Should prove to be interesting as different families will be pushing areas from, swamp bottoms to, 50 acre wood lots.

Hope to post a few pictures tomorrow night or it's back to archery.

Best of luck to those hitting the PA. Wilds tomorrow.............  Hunt Safely.
