Over the last sixty years, the department has developed a deer herd monitoring and management system that seeks to use the best science and data possible. The deer monitoring system is more comprehensive, complex, and intensive than for any other wildlife species managed in Wisconsin. A recent audit by an international panel of experts found the department's deer population modeling system to be a sound program, as good as or better than that of any state. Yet challenges remain, including hunter concerns with deer population model accuracy and the impacts of predators. None-the-less, we continue to strive to be responsive to Wisconsin's citizens and enhance the accuracy and precision of deer population estimates. To that end, the department is investing a record amount of its resources for Wisconsin whitetails.

Has Delaney voted to many times for ya?

Of all the commissioners, if I could've hand picked one for removal, it would've been Martone.   He was so vocally antideer and unbending, it actually made me sick to hear him talk on the subject often times and it got even moreso later in his term.  He also refused completely to be open minded when factual rebuttal and information was provided.  It was clear he had no intention of being wrong and that was that.

I don't have a major issue with Delaney.  On him, Im neutral.   Early on in his term I disagreed with him on some of the important issues, but he seems to have softened his stance on some issues and come towards more middleground, which is better than nothing.   Something Martone never has done.

As for any others that I really don't agree with, while not on par with Martone, Weiner comes to mind.   I appreciate his service for the fact hes a very staunch archery supporter and agree with him once in a blue moon on some other issues.  Deer management, I see his as opposition to my positions more often than not.

Some other commissioners I agree with these days more often than not, and others Im not really sure where they stand on many issues more often than not.
