Possible Ice Fishing Tournament on Lake Arthur

The Slippery Rock University Competitive Bass Team is looking into putting together a ice fishing tournament this Feb. on Lake Arthur but I wanted your opinions on it first. What kind of things would you like to see as a part of this? Please share any ideas. Also, let me know if you think you would be interested. I would like to get a good idea of how much interest we would have. Thanks guys!!

I would definitely be interested. I would like to see it on a Saturday. Panfish only would be excellent. Check out the NEIFC web page and check out their rules and regulations. That might give you some ideas.

E, people might get some bass, but there is a good chance that they could have the tourney and not a single person would catch a pike or a muskie. If it's panfish, people will definitely have something to weigh in.

The date is set for Feb 1st. As long as we have ice and the PFBC approves it. Stay tuned for more details. Keep an eye on our website. www.freeteams.net/srubassfishing

Why not make it with multiple categories like panfish, bass, pike and musky that way you'll get guys for everything. It's a Great Lake for different fish. If I'm off id be in.

Are you planning on a live weigh in? If so, how would an angler keep fish alive long enough on ice?

Also, are there teams? If so, anyone with an auger want a teammate?

It's easy to keep fish alive ice fishing. Get a laundry bag or some other mesh bag like a decoy bag and you just put the fish in it and drop it down a hole. Same concept as a floating basket
