Just back from the Oak

Attachments are not available: Download requirements not met   Friday was incredibly windy, the worst I've seen.  But I caught my largest brown...I have video of a guy holding a brown trout as big as a king salmon, twice the size of the one I am holding.  As soon as I can I will capture a pic from the video to post.  The browns seemed to be much larger this year over last.

I'm jealous. That's a beaut for sure. Congrats on a nice catch.

The funny thing was, there were two Russian guys fishing this spot who decided to break for lunch.  As they were munching their sandwiches, I fished their spot as they watched...It wasn't more than three casts when I hooked this monster.  I saw some large browns on stringers that day, but this one was released.

Got to jump right in someone's spot because they took a quick break, typical.

I don't see any problem fishing a spot while someone takes a lunch break....They don't own the stream...I left when they were ready to begin fishing.

What's RUDE is to park your dumb A** in a  spot and then act like you have title to it, while you go off and look at the flowers or go back to your car or whatever. If you are not fishing the water, the spot is open and available. If you don't agree, go back to Ohio or Pa or wherever you can tie up public water all day when there are a ton of other guys who also want to fish.

" I fished that spot 2 years ago, so, you see, it is MY SPOT!"  Where does it stop, I've been fishing the Salmon River for 30 years so I own the whole thing and you can all just stay home! Ridiculous!

I'm looking into a catheter so I never have to leave the spot!

Just heard that the left edge water downstream from the bridge above 19 on Sandy is festooned with nice new posted signs, a result of the farmer getting tired of litter, noise, dead fish left and a general disregard for his property.  Also that long stretches upstream that used to be accessible are also carrying new posted signs.  Considering the dearth of public access points on that stream, maybe the solution to inability to get to the fish is to stop stocking it.  But if people treated the ground as if it were theirs instead of having the "I'll be home in PA or Ohio or Wellsville, what do I care" attitude, maybe some of this problem could be avoided.  The stream you trash today is the one you will not be able to access when you return next year.
