elusive carp

Again this year the elusive carp evaded capture at the derby that was held on Fathers day at Twin Lakes. With over 235 people registered not even 1 carp was reported. There was a 17 1/2" bass caught, a 15 1/2" catfish & several Trout.  sam

One of these days ill be free to fish one. With no kids, my fathers day was busy at the in laws. I did pretty good there the other day. I think i beat 17 1/2" :) that's a nice bass for that lake though.

any idea which lake the 17 1/2" bass came from?  and fishin guy,  which lake did you get that bass that you think beat the 17 1/2"?  Thanks, I haven't been fishing twin lakes all year because i found a lake that the average bass is around 15"  and i got tired of all the tiny twin lakes bass,  but maybe i'll have to make a few trips back over there...

The fish I got over 17 was a carp, per the thread title. I've seen a few big bass in there. But there are better lakes in the area for bass IMO. I think i know what lake you've been fishing.

The 17 1/2" bass was caught & released in the bottom lake on a rubber worm.  sam

Not where I was thinking. Nice. I haven't been there in years. There any big carp in there? I think I've seen people target them there before. My wife went to grad school there.

i've already gotten a number of bass over 3 pounds out of there including a 5.5 pounder.  and there are a ton of carp, i think one of the reasons there aren't so many bass is because there are so many carp actually lol.  later in the day you can see huge pods of them feeding on the surface all over the lake and there are some larger ones out there too, i've seen some in the 30+ inch range
