Mon river above Loch 3

Fished the Mon today above Elizabeth. Had one big hit but it got off. Lots of carp jumping. Anyone else fishing around there? Doing any good?

    Caught 2 flatheads near the bridge the past two nights on cut bait. Action seems to be picking up.

    What are you using, cut bluegills? Has anyone ever used trout as cutbait? I usually never keep trout but, I thought about when I catch them and know they arent gonna make it.

    Blue gills and trout both work well dead and cut in half. Trout get pretty soft though and can easily fly of the hook.

    Even running a double hook rig?  Like a say #6 or 8 Gamakatsu Big River bait hook and a Treble or a smaller say #3 or 4/0 at circle at the bottom?  Plus, I've herd people say trout heads work real well...
