Hows Cross Creek doing?

I go to school up North and haven't been home to fish the lake since March.  Back then it was way to cold to get bit!  Just wondering how the lakes been doing and if its producing for anyone???!!!  Really ready to graduate from college and get back on it before the heat of the summer and tons of fishing pressure makes it challenging.

Crappie had just started to bite in the last week or so on the flats then that brief coldfront came thru and they locked up again.

Did very well on crappie last wednesday and thursday evenings. No fish were caught off visible wood structure, but a bit further out off the bank. Like Wally mentioned, the changing weather has probably kept the crappie moving in and out of shallow.

Although I don't target bass, also caught 8 - 10 on jigs while crappie fishing. Nothing large, but bass nonetheless. Thursday evening there was a fellow in a boat I could hear talking loudly, he was very excited about a large bass. It sounded like he said to a girl on the boat that it was a 7 or 8 lber.  I was too far away to see the fish.

Thats interesting!  Ive seen a 7lb 3 ouncer caught in a tourney and recently a fellow competitor pulled out a 6.14lber so theres some big ones in there!  This is deff the time of the year to catch the big ones in the lake though from my past experiences.  Last time I was crappy fishing was prob to weeks ago and they said they was getting them at the covered bridge where ever that is.

19 crappie and a few gills off the wall in the flats,7' depth w/ slip bob. Tommorrow should prove better warm up before cold snap.
