WEll ???

Been out back listening already- No gobblin- little to no mast crop again last year and a very late winter.
The Anti  down the road has his Posted signs out  and his feeders full already for the dozen or so  Turks still managing to stay around here. Krikies they have even learned to roost in his posted area to be near the corn all day. He feeds year round and has drawn what few birds were still here to his property full time.
  Time for some new ground.

Move back  to Sugar Grove Pa. You can hunt both Pa and NY with a short drive. I saw two flocks with several long beards and a dozen deer in one mile just outside Jamestown on my way to steelhead fishing last week.

I have one pinned around the house, but I'm hoping not too many guys decide to slam on the brakes and open the truck door and then proceed to hammer a box call along the roadside with the engine roaring between now and the opener

I took a short walk tonight. Heard 2 gobble about an hour before dark. Gave a few yelps and NO reply. I have seen a FEW the past week in grass fields. Seeing tons of deer. I had 7 doe in the yard tonight, While I sat on the porch in my rocking chair. They came up to 20 feet from the porch. They know where the bird seed is. No signs of turkey in the yard yet. I guess the deer eat it all before the turkey come around.

Went out scouting Sunday morning. Sat down at my spot at 620. Gobbling started at 630. Heard one fly down at 640. Gave a yelp at 655, by 710 I had a long beard at 15 yards. Saw 4 total long beards in less then an hour.

    Double posting lol
Hey didnt even pickup a tag this year- what with political budget woes and the resulting busy schedule and doing a gut rehab on another house am very busy.
Who said retirement  has all the time in the world for hunting and fishing ??
Still not one gobble out back on the ridge- second year in a row.
A friend who makes call boxes commercially and has a Turkey tatoo _ very committed guy- hasnt heard one gobble here in Ct yet- He tagged out in VT first Am.
Think the numbers are way down in my area. Dont know why cept for the lousy mast crops recently.
