So wheres the ICE?

Anyone have any info on ice thickness and locations? If I could be out getting the info myself, I would, but I just had surgery. Once I am recovered you can bet on me givin you guys as much info as I can. Anyone been to Edinboro? I feel like the ice is pretty good there. I'm hoping to find a "safe" place to fish tomorrow. Thanks Guys!!

Just made a post on the Lake Pleasant thread.  2.5" on Friday was not enough for me on Lake Pleasant.  Nobody was on Eaton and I didn't venture out because there wasn't a soul around to hear me if I had a problem, even though I had my picks, a life preserver, and a change of clothes in the car.

Me too man! Good news is it looks like there is going to be a significant cool down after this warm front comes through so hoping to be back on the hard water by 1st week of February.

Bad news is, that in the past 50 yrs we have been fishing open water somewhere in Westm'd Cnty by the last week in Feb., approx. 90% of the time.Good or bad ,depends on what you like.  sam

Weather is one of the bad things about this area for ice fishermen. It's such a short season as it is and for the many people that work M-F and are not significantly close to water, that only leaves weekends. When one factors in the weather, that might only leave 8 weekends at best to fish and then when other things are accounted for like family commitments, getting a vehicle repaired etc..., it makes for a very short season.
