Lake Pleasant
Lake Pleasant as of this past Saturday afternoon (12/29/12) was ice covered with a lot of wet spots around the shoreline and dotted across the lake. It was 17 degrees this morning (1/3/13) out that way.

I did some scouting yesterday (Friday, Jan. 4). Two guys were fishing for trout along the NE shore. I followed some test holes out about 30 yards. They were drilled about 100 yards N of the parking lot. I have my ice scoop measured off in 1" increments, so my measurements are pretty accurate. I found only 2 1/2" of ice, and about an inch of that was white ice. I fished for a few minutes, but was not having a good time thinking about the ice breaking underneath me. There's not much snow on the ice and the surface is good and hard (not the slush that's often there). I imagine guys will be fishing it this weekend. With a couple cold nights and daytime temps a few degreees below freezing, it could put on another inch or so over the weekend.
Also drove to Eaton earlier in the morning on Friday. Not a sole was around. There were some wet spots visible here and there. It looked like a few test holes had been drilled close to shore. Even though I had my ice picks and a life preserver, I didn't take the chance of walking out with nobody else around. Came home frustrated, but warm and dry.

Fished Lake Pleasent for 4 hr this morning ice was 3 inches about 20yds out off the south parking area, 2ins of good ice an 1in of milky ice. Drilled a hole about 5yds further out ice was 2in thick. Not a single bite!!!, talk to 6 others they too caught nothing, maybe late afternoon bite will be better. All together there was about 20 people fishing. There was 8 people fishing the north end don't know how they did.

Fished pleasant sunday 3" maybe 4" in some spots. Very slow to begin then finally found some gills and perch in deeper water ended with a nice mess of big gills!!!

went to pleasant today guys fishing close to shore . checked ice about 40 yards out not good . One guy went trough on friday one on saturday. Lucky they were still close to shore that water gets deep in a hurry!!!!!!

I really have only liked the ice out there a handful of times. It's usually slush or just crap ice. Be careful out there!

One person fishing at the lake this afternoon, just off shore in 4-5 fow said there was 4 inches of ice.

Was on pleasant today got a nice bucket of mix crappy ,perch, big gills and 6 pellet heads  out deep never moved. goin in the am
