Trapping

Im new to it but i just bought two 1 1/2 leg holds.  Hoping to get some coons and coyotes. Maybe even a fox.  Does anybody on here trap?

Are they coil or long springs? And did you mean 2 dozen or 2 traps?

I wouldn't purposely set a 1.5 for a yote. Fox yes. But not yotes. I've caught them in 1.5s as they got in my fox sets but when I run my coyote line I have all #2s. And those 1.5s do awesome work on coons, mink and rats.

I just set these traps where i have been seeing a few raccoon. Hopefully a couple decide to make the wrong move.  I bought bait/lure and Gander Mtn.  and put little drops of it on pieces of chicken.

Are you along a creek? You should try to google a diagram for a pocket set. That's about all I use for coon. Plus with that you'll get some bonus catches of mink and rats. But remember mink and rats don't come in til Saturday.

Or a try cubbie or PVC set for coon too

I have 2 coil spring traps. Im in a swamp.  there is a patch of dry land near a pond and a field that i often see coyotes and raccoon in or near. We'll see how things go.

What he said about GM. WAY OVER PRICED. Sullivan's is another good supplier or F&Ts.

If you in a swamp is suggest getting some 110s or 120s for mink and rats too

I did not dye them.  I understand i probably should have but i did not want to mess something up trying to dye them.

Gave my traps away long ago but did it for many years here in CT- Fox, Coon, Rats, Mink were the mainstay. No Yotes back then but plenty now.
Aside from some rat lure or Beaver Castor think a single Sardine is the greatest bait ever for just bout everything else-when the Sardines run out the oil is just about as good.
Good luck- share some photos - great memories. Hey Emann - Dye and Wax those traps.

If there is a bit of currant place that foil so it is in a strip and 'flutters' over the pan. They cant resist thinking its a shiner or something.
Have even picked up a Fox with that.
