Pymatuning report

Was wandering if anyone has been fishing lately.

    havn't been latley but i got a notice from
    the outboard motor club where my pontoon
    is docked that if you want to get your boat
    out of the water do not try there ramp as
    it is to low, you have to take it out at jamestown

    Was there Friday but only a few perch and gills. And indeed the water is very low.

    Anyone been doing any fishing in and around the stumps area? Wondering what affect the water level has had on the fishing overall?

    Was up there on Saturday for about 4 hours before heading down to the hotel and going to Shenango and was talking to a guy that's up there quite frequently from what he was describing and he said the shad are starting to run good so the eyes won't be too far behind.  After which we proceeded to head down to Jamestown and fish the river at the dock and right at the outflow and we caught a handful of small bass and bluegills.  There were a TON of shad at the low dam by the gauge/dock at the south end.  So if you are planing on going up for eyes I'd say there's a chance but launching a boat as said prior it going to be tough....

    Was out friday morning. Crappie bite was pretty good. Some nice slabs in 12ft over brush. Still using jigs and twistertails. No live bait yet.

    I was at the river today, below the dam. The water level was high and flowing fast. It looked as if they opened the gates. I scouted the river and I noticed many possible spots to fish compared to a month ago. I couldn't believe how low the lake is.

    I thought maybe the rain we had would have raised the water level. I saw a great blue heron standing out about 50 yards from the bank, and the water was just about touching it's belly. It's that low. I agree with you, a hard winter maybe the answer, but I think too, it may take 2 to 3 years of a hard winter to raise the level.  If the water level is so low, why the heck did they opened the gates up?

    Me and a buddy got 2 eyes sat nite both legal,water level IMO should help duck Huntin this year cuz u can walk way out to get birds and decoys
