Word of Caution ==

If you have not bought your 2012 hunting license, I have a word of caution ...do not wait much longer....

The local WalMart's system crashed yesterday for most of the day and we got SLAMMED with new customers wanting licenses.

Our system stayed Up ====  BUT ==== There was a ton of problems and I had to call the "computer center" over 6 times to have problems corrected...

Also KNOW IN ADVANCE the area you want for an elk tag to hunt in and the number of the DMAP area you would like a coupon for ..... There is nothing in the computer system (POS) for us to help you get that info....

I've got my licenses off the internet the last two years also and had ZERO problems...

had the connection to the internet (PALS) broken only 4 times today
and the licenses did not print out... when I called to have them reverse the license it only took about 10 minutes to get it done !!!  LOL>>>LOL>>>LOL

I've found that buying my license as soon as the DMAP areas I want come out works best for me.
I'm surprised that there are any DMAPs left.  My facorite zone sold out of almost 300 tags in less than 3 days.w_w.

If it has fins and gills, I'm there.

Bought mine tonight at the local Gander Mountain and the clerks were complaining about how slow the system was.  No problem with mine though.

Today the entire sysytem for the state CRASHED in the afternoon, we could sell no licenses and had to turn away about 15 people during that time...

WHY do people wait to the last minute is beyond me ??????????????????

That only adds to the odds of crashing the sysytem or so I was told when I talked to the young lady in Tennesseee when the system CRASHED  this afternoon ........???????

    Docto

I buy both hunting and fishing licenses on the internet.  I save the PDF and can print multiple copies or reprint a misplaced one.

I didn't think you could print your own hunting license? How does that work with the harvest tags?

You can not print hunting licenses or tags off the internet ..

the PGC sends them to you by the USA post office mail sysytem in about 7 days..

For 2D, I've never had a problem with drawing a tag as long as I send in before the non residents and second round starts.

Not familiar with the allocations in other WMU's, but do they sell out that quickly that you have to get 'em in by the first day?

So, does the PGC backcharge PALS for being down?

    They should.

Or they should look for a more reliable, and perhaps less expensive, vendor.

The poster formally known as Duncsdad

Everything I say can be fully substantiated by my own opinion.

do they sell out that quickly

2F and 2G usually sell out within the first week when allocations are as low as they are this year.. as of this afternoon they have both sold 1/2 the tags allocated

2F took long time last year to sell out

that's because thay had an extra large number of tags...

about 7,000 more than the average number issued yearly

I got a bonus tag for 2F last year. They usually sell out the fastest along with 2G.
