Pinchot Lake

Anyone fish this lake?  Any updates?  Thinking of heading up there this weekend.  I've heard that it can get quite busy.  Was thinking of fishing into the night or very early in the morning.

Bass season comes in saturday,  should be very busy.  Lot of cover grass , weeds.  Try surface lures in weeds.  The further you can get away from the channels the better the fishing

Here is a update from last week!  1st off > your not going to find heavy weed cover  because of a lake draw-down this past winter into March. The draw down was 6 ft. so weeds will just be starting to gather in the depths of 0=6 ft. If your looking for this type of info then check out my map site!  I make the only structure maps of Pinchot at present time. 2nd> boat traffic was getting heavy by 9am we were on the lake from 7am-10am. It got hot but the fishing was slow for fisherman. We tracked nice fish at 9' depths at 10am and 7' at 8am. Fish are in there summer pattern now. Find structure to find fish or go night fishing .

Definitely didn't see too many weeds.  Every fish I marked was at 6' or 7' of water in 10-14' of water.  We tried everything but live bait and only managed one - crappie!  I only saw one bass caught and there were quite a few boats around us.  Hope others did better.  Beautiful day though.  I didn't know that the Goldsboro launch was that close to Pinchot.  Went over to the Susquehanna to run the motor and cool off after crawling around at Pinchot.

Fish like everyone else and catch nothing like everyone else!  This lake see's its crowd and traffic and every lure. You need to change up or be diffrent and live bait is very effective by the way. I know the lake all too well and you will need to work for nice fish. Its not a over stocked pond .  Check out my structure map and see the diffrences of what looks good and whats really under the water holding fish.
