bullgills

Amazing how well we have done on BIG gills this spring, considering the crazy ups & downs in the weather.I have caught many 9-10" bulls in several different lakes around here with a jig & bobber set-up. The only prob. was that as soon as we hit a pattern, the weather would change & we would have to find them again. But it is fun experimenting.  sam

Thanks, Unfortuneatly I did not take picts.cause I don't carry a camera because I carry too much anyway. These gills are the reason I don't travel too far from home. We made a trip to P. I. in April & didn't catch as many or as big & it cost me $100 for gas. btw we are always looking forward to seeing picts. of your Crappie.   sam

I was lucky enough to get access to a big farm pond a week ago or so. Catch and release only, but landed probably 30 gills, all over 8 inches with probably 6 legitimate pounders. Almost all on the fly rod too. These were big enough that I actually caught one on a live 1.5" gill(targeting bass) . I have a pic of the biggest pumpkinseed (bout 11") I've ever caught, but haven't figured out the pics on the new site yet.

This is all I've figured out so far... (it doesn't look that big cuz I've got huge hands.)

Wow, that's nuts if it was wild. I never got one til last year, and I got 6 last year, one just over 22" all stocked I assume.
