I couldn't pass up the opportunity to shoot this Bearded Hen today. She's already at the taxidermist...

    That is a good beard for a hen. My bearded fall hen last year had about the same length but not as thick. Congrats.

    Nice bird Steelie. I don't want to steal your thunder, but it is hardly what I would call "once in a lifetime". They really aren't that uncommon at all. Anyways, a nice trophy you can be proud of congrats.

    had one fly down in a field last friday ... didnt see the beard to out of range ... an forgot my decoys :/ saw the gobbler they were with too but he new his hens were coming so he didnt budge
