Poe Valley State Park

In mid-May, I'm heading up to Poe Valley State Park for the first time.  I'll be staying in one of the camping cottages with my best friend, an akita/elkhound mix.  The state parks have started allowing pets in some of the camping cottages/cabins this year on a trial basis, so I'm really excited to give it a shot. 
 
Anyways, I'll probably only fish the lake, as it would be tough to fish any streams while trying to keep track of my dog.  But I'm looking for any suggestions about any special hiking trails, nice overlooks, etc.  I'll probably head down to poe paddy and see what thats all about.  Obviously the bald eagle s.f. is very large so I should be able to keep myself and my dog occupied for a weekend.
