Daughter's new gun

I got my daughter this cool Rossi youth model .22/410 combo for her birthday. She can't wait for me to take her on the mentor hunt this coming Fall for squirels. She's deadly right now with her BB gun. It's pretty cool(for now anyways) she loves to fish and can't wait to hunt next year. I better enjoy now.. Haha

    Cool!

My 5 year old will be in the market for something similar, hopefully in a year or two. She's doing the BB gun thing now but has a way to go before I think she will be ready for a firearm.

That's a nice gun. My friend lent me the same gun for my 7 year old and gave me a box of 3 inch .410 shells. Thankfully I shot it first as it would have been a bit much for my little guy. I bought some 2 1/2 inch shells which are a good match for him. Just a heads up.

Got my girl out shooting her new gun for the 1st time. She hit 3 bulleyes and a bunch in the black right outside. Those are dead squirrels this Fall. I couldn't be more proud of her.
We also when to a wild game dinner on Saturday and she ate bear, elk, deer, perch, salmon & wild turkey. This girl loves wild meat. I even got her to try frog legs a few weeks ago, that's the 1st thing she didn't like. haha

Thanks, I figured it would be a bit much for her since she's only 8 and the gun is still just a tad big for her. Maybe this summer she will be ready for the .410. Right now just the 22.

    Jeb,

Not picking, but now is a dandy time to introduce her to always using hearing protection, even with a .22.  Those of us that hear the constant ringing wish we had.

Yeah, I know. I forgot them at home cause I was excited to get out there with her. She asked for them after the 1st shot, will make sure I have them next time out. Thanks for the reminder..
