New to fly fishing

My wife got me a fly rod and reel for christmas and I am walking the floor waiting to get out this spring and give it a try. I live not to far from the delaware river were it is open for witer trout, I would love to try winter fly fishing. but I don't know what to use as flys. I am thinking nymphs and would appreciate any help on what to try. Thanks, noodle one

Nympths in dark colors, wooly buggers in dark colors fished deep and slow in the deeper water.Wear a wading belt and cleated boots and a good idea would be to NOT fish alone,if you fall in the cold winter water you don't have much time before you freeze up.....be careful!
