Never took one on the fly before, so that's a bonus too.

    Nice. I got my 1st and only sauger on he fly a few years ago. Its was pretty cool. Congrats...

    man i been wanting to get an eye on the fly but havent got one yet.... my first fish of the year was an eye as well just not on a fly....... nice catch cold!!!!

    Thanks dUUds! I got a few more last weekend in the same spot and one other spot. So far in 2012, I've caught more eyes than everything else combined.

    If this balmy weather holds up, next Sunday I'll either be after more like this or some natives on dries.

    wilbur, just let me know, dUUd. Got my new setup ready to roll.

    Or maybe a bowfin...I think the tax rocks affected the way it curled.

    Honestly, no idea. I don't catch them often enough to distinguish. I just called it a walleye and left it at that.

    I got out and hit the creeks after toothy critters! Pike only count as half!

    This was my first fish on new years day. I was throwing some meat trying to pick up a big brown on a local river that is not stocked. It's hard to say where this rainbow came from, or why it wanted to eat a streamer that looked like a small brown trout.
