Ice fishing alone?

I met a few people that were ice fishing alone last year....I like going out in pairs but find myself going out solo also. I dont agree with it...in fact, I think im stupid for going out alone..... does anyone else have this issue?

If I am fishing alone I try and stay in a area where there are other Fishermen. There are just times when my fishin buds can't make it and I have freetime. It limits what areas you can fish but I would rather be around other people then be off in a area alone.

Ice fishing alone is like drinking alone, its probably not a good idea...

    ...but sometimes it's fun.

I'm alone, maybe, 25-30% of the time...I enjoy the quiet time.

Don't mind it mid-season, but if it's early or late ice I try to stay within ear-shot of someone.

Where I live now NO one ice fishes(too cold, windy). If I waited for others to hunt or fish I would never go(LAZY)!! After 18 years of living in Central Pa. I have gotten use to going alone. I don't like it but it is what is. After all its more deer and fish for me to catch. By the way it was 59 here today! There will be no hard water for me this year unless I head up to Erie later this season.

I usually go alone, but go places where others are fishing. Sometimes everyone else leaves, and I stay. Other times I arrive, no one else around and I stay and fish anyway. I think it's foolhardy, but do it anyway. My advice would be, don't fish alone. I heard a story about a fellow fishing alone, falling and being injured while fishing at Glendale last year. He laid there for a quite some time before someone came to his rescue.

How did the person who invented the first clock know what time it was?
