Rio VersiLeader

Anyone have any thoughts on these? Advantages/disadvantages? Also I was not sure what weight would be appropriate. I mainly fish the faster sections of waters and wanted something to get down quicker without as much shot or preferably none at all. I add lead to some of my flies so that they get down quicker and that helps but I do not want to have to do that to all of them. Lastly, how do you connect the loops?I have a welded loop at the end of my line. Sorry, still a little new to this and just trying to get as good as I can.

    They are really only useful for streamer fishing
    is that what you plan on doing?

    nymphing- they will be a major PITA

    Some streamer but mostly nymphing...... Thanks for the info, was not sure if it would fit into my arsenal or not. May pick one up in the future but for now I will most likely put it on the back burner for now.

    someone may thinking different... But for nymphing

    - you will loose the ability to mend
    - you won't get "down" any better since there will still be a 4ft+ section of leader/tippet to your fly that will impeed the sink of the leader
    - the fastest sink rate is 7ips... which is Much slower that split shot, lead wraps, or tung beads
    - the entire 7ft or 12ft leader sinks... uniformly. So that means getting caught up on all the rocks/rip-rap between you and your fly
