Anti Reverse Fly Reels

I used a abel anti reverse fly reel for the first time last weekend on the salmon river. i am shopping for steelhead.  anyone have any opinions on anti reverse reels or any models that you like or dislike?

    No real input here except to say I would like to have one but all the ones I know about are out of my price range. Maybe check out Orvis.

    A billy pate or a Henschel are my leading contenders right now. The prices are outrageous but i really want one!

    I want one too.
    Same reason, Salmon River knuckle saver.
    Off season on eBay. Used Pate is what I'd be looking for.
    They are a tad on the heavy side.

    Check out Valentine Fly Reels. You can find an older model reel on ebay or on internet web sites selling used reels. Made in USA.

    I fished a finn-nor anti reverse for many years on steel and salmon.... I will say there is no drag smoother than anti-reverse fly reel... you can't go wrong with a billy pate;) one thing I will strongly recommend is to be sure that your choice of reel has a spool that has a palming rim.... spool palming is necessary; especially with an anti-reverse... good luck with your choice...
