out on a limb here

Just for the heck of it I went back through the seasons a ways to see how this year compares to the others. That group that ran last week happened within two days either side in all the past years including the drought year. Here's the kicker, Sept. 13-16 in all those years reports of large groups of fish entering. Some even saying 1000-2000. Water conditions as low as 125 to 750 didn't matter, and neither did temps. Don't know if I'm on to something here, but if a big batch comes in mid week, then I guess I wasn't wasteing ink.

Stress is just one hookset away from being gone.

Yep, always the hoes...always the first or second week of Sept.

Usually sporadic in between, but keeps things spread out and crowds usually not too bad, once the full run is on forget it until

    steel season.

Can't say I blame your Dad.  I wanted to catch ONE. Now I'm looking for 10-11' 9 wts. when I already have two high end 9 footers that I used in the salt.  I really hope it does start up again this week. I hope we all do well.

yeah been swinging the fly for 10+ years did 2 years of spinning and fun and all but fly fishing is the way to go. I have a few boxes of surprises but will definetly try a red one on. father last year 2nd cast and he was hooked now working on the 11 year old almost every day he's in the back yard practicing his casting.

    WOWWWW-
This is the most amazing stretch of commercial river reports I have ever even heard about---they are ALL saying absolutley nothing at all for the past several days or actually reporting poor fishing.
All that says is that even the Chubs aint bitin.  ( not counting the poor fishes that made it to some of the big pools only to get tortured)
Think that when it happens it may be WILD-gotta be lots waitin out there buildin up to a frenzy.
