Clarion Trip 7-17 ==

Did an early morning trip this morning left at 5am and fished until 9am....

Fishing was not real good.... I landed 6 small sunfish, 5 Rock Bass one of which was about the size of my hand and this Channel Catfish.

When I got her home and filleted, Her belly cavity was stuffed with rowe and her stomach had about a dozen crayfish in it...

only 24 inches long but FAT !!!

    nice, I was up there this time of year last year for vacation and we got into some nice cats several over 20in including a 25 and a 27 mostly on cranks and jigs. Talked to a guy who was catching them on his fly rod.

    I was sort of surprised I have caught large channels before but this rascal did not put up much of a fight ... sort of just like pulling in a small log ... dead weight .. there was just resistance no pulling away...

    In hind sight I wish I would have taken a photo of the roe and crayfish, they both would not have fit in my hand ... the crayfish alone were about the size of a cue ball

    Rain in the forecast here for tomorrow so I think I'll head back out this evening and try another spot...

    Doc, In pic #2 one of your fingers is missing back near the anal fin.  Just where exactly is it?

    ...and a thumb?   WOW!!  It's amazing what those crayfish do to a fish-fincter!
