O Canada!
Left Erie at 1600 hours Tuesday, back home 24 hours later.
I've been discouraged by the perch fishing at Presque Isle, so off to Canada. Went to GPS spot #1 (in the vicinity of Snake Island), drilled two holes at day break, never moved, limit by 0900.
Well actually, 49 so I could play around til 1100 when I left with 50.
The chartuese jigging Rapala has been my go-to bait up there for a long time, but I wanted to try the Genz Worm up there as I had good success with it at our first ice before Christmas. I was getting a lot of little ones on the Rapala, so I loaded up the Genz Worm with as many maggots as I could fit on the hook, and game on! Lots of nice ones and consistent action on the Genz.
Fish were hitting all up and down the water column, I easily caught 100 or more. No one within 300 yards of me.
Pictures later....
