Mohawk River

Saw a bunch of ice fisherman parked at the old water treatment plant on River Rd in Latham (3 miles down from lock 7).

Any idea what they are fishing for?

Are they fishing in the backwaters, or right out on the main river?

    I've never noticed people ice fishing on the Mohawk (haven't really looked thought). Is this safe? Is there still a current, or is all the water locked up? I've got a few spots in mind for walleye if it's safe.

    When hell freezes over, I'll fish there too.

    Lance - I think it was Jimmy and Tom.They got some perch i guess nothing great tho.
