Some proximal areas had near well over knee deep snow... Two bands to the north that could put another hurt on

Well I grossly under estimated this mornings totals. There was close to a foot when I left this am. Close to 16 when I got home tonight. Not too bad at all do far. All cleaned up and ready for the next round. Too bad I have to work tomorrow.

That is to say the least. 1.5 hours from Bremerton to Parish. Close to 2 feet on the ground. All cleaned up for now, but more coming...............

Hard to believe here in Ct. Only a bit of snow here and there early in Deer season and nothing for weeks since.
Flurries today expected and then a dry week into mid Jan.
Not even thinking of coming up to SR country with a couple of feet--lol. (even with Hos around)

Light snow on and off all day with no real accumulation, but they are still holding the warning for that band to the north to come down late tonight in to morning clint

Lets see what it has to offer.  Only the winds can decide. Personally I hope it stays up at the Oswego Jefferson border like it's supposed to. Oh well another sleepless night and getting up at 0430 to check and see if I have to clean up. The machinery has been running well so far this year.

I've got light/moderate stuff closing in right now. Have had a few hang ups with the equipment but manageable. After 12 years of no problem starts decided to put that k100 stuff in and had an issue with the fuel filter cartridge freezing up on the very bottom with rusty water. Few hour hang up but Lesson learned, if ain't broke don't try to fix it... New battery and some loose lug nuts but the diesel engine has been prevailing clint ;) glad to hear you've had a smooth ride so far

Wow that is one heck of a band dropping down right now. As far south as oswego and north of Adams... Stretching across most of the lake as far east as the Adirondacks.

Well the drive in SUCKED not because it was a whiteout or the reads were overly bad, but the snow stretched all the way into Syracuse and people do not know how to drive.........

You'd think 5 year olds would know how to drive in snow in your area, instead of people just acting like them..... Let us know some totals when you sort of get a lull, I'm just getting the cold. This has been one cold week for working outside. Tomorrow morning is gonna be brutal.

Only about 6 inches today for me. Totals for me would be about 30 inches so far.   I think Altmar and Pulaski has more on the ground. Could be another foot tonight. Monday it was over the top of the snow blower. Will post some pics this weekend.  Around 0 out right now.

Re:Weather thread 2015/01/07 22:59:56 (permalink)
Clint Saturday night in to Sunday night warmed and saturated the ground big time. All tribs and little veins were/are wollen. 2k+ up north... North branch salmon had obvious ice damming with big water coming down. My sump pump is still running.

Bad drivers were the culprit today. I read an article on that pile up in parish on 81 and a few folks commented saying people should only drive in case of an emergency... What has the world come to??? I guess some folks don't work. Fichy I feel ya man. I did some outdoor work today and have a bit of outdoor work tomorrow up on a roof... Flat roof that is... Im seasoned at this point though. For totals I'd say town of Richland and the town of Albion areas have ranged between 50 and 70 inches in the past 9 days.had big melt off though this past Sunday... Big time warm rain.... Currently -8 in my neck of the woods and today was one of those days where the lake effect wasn't showing up on the radars too well... Still coming down

I thought I was pretty cold and snow tough because I lived in the Sierra and on top of a mountain in Vermont. You guys make me feel like I live in the frickin' tropics. Thanks for the reports. You have to live through them, but it is interesting to see the extremes....

-1 here in Ct this AM
Cwazy Lab REFUSES to walk under a roof so am watering, running regularly  and  and feeding 3 small times a day.
Heck all the old Uncles hunters were outside all year but it still worries me- luckily he still seems happy and OK-wish he'd come in though.
Flat out will NOT come in-fights-lays down-cries and tries to get away whenever he's even near an open door.
He wont walk over a bridge or anyplace near a road grate when walking him- wont even cross RR tracks across a road.
Think he has 'issues'.
Friendly-comical and happy.
Takes a few of us to get him into the Vets for shots now and then- he sits there cowering the whole time.
Once they came outside for a shot shaking their heads and chuckeling.
Raised Labs for a long time- bred some great dogs too but NEVER had one  like this. Big headed black classic English dog and NUTS.
Makes me laugh regularly.

Trev labs are great. I grew up with them and we bred our one female twice as well as studding our one male a few times...

Tuna good luck with the boiler bud...steam or hot water?

Multiple warnings in effect... Snow really hasn't stopped at my house. Lake snow transitioning to synoptic snow this afternoon from a clipper system... Then tranditiong back over to lake snow heavily through Saturday... They are warning a few feet in addition from this point on...

Hot water, all going GREAT !! Guys are cool and throwing in some extras :) no skin off their back.. Staying warm in house. Pellets, woodstove, buddy heater and kerosene are all making thing ok till the boiler kicks back on.
Now I feel better knowing I shouldn't have any " issues " the rest of ice season.
Look out lakers here I come

I had minus 11  at my house  and -9 at work for the first hour or 2. Where I use to live in Vt. was -24 this morning with a windchill 0f -48. Glad I ain't there. Oddly, it was sunny and very little wind and ended up being the best day of the week so far.
I"ll take it every day. It would have been nice on the ice. I noticed the Hudson and its tribs were mostly ice this morning, let alone the ponds.
Go get 'em Tuna.
