leadcore

So I have few questions about leadcore. How do you use it? Like how is it rigged on a rod? Do you tie monofilament on it as a leader? and do you have backing line? Also how much do you put on the rod like color wise? Just trying to understand it. If i were fishing lakers with spoons how would I rig it?
