planer boards
Can i run dipsys off big boards never used boards dont know best way to get line down to proper depth using planer boards thanks

There are some planer boards that can handle the tug of a dipsy. It can be a bit tricky because dipsys pull so hard. If you have one pull out of a release clip it will cross all of your other lines on that side. You will have a mess on your hands.
A better option would be inline weights and jet divers.
You can stack a few jets off of boards, and run a few dipsys off each side of the boat. This will give you a nice spread through out the water column.

Thanks all i ever ran was dipseys without boards wanted to try boards this year didnt know even how to start

Size 0 dipsys can be run off of a big board system with no problems. Fished with harnesses, spoons and stickbaits, they can be deadly. We used to run 5 of them to a side on the big boards.

I stopped using dipsys on big boards because there was too much for a walleye to release IMO. A salmon or steelhead might be ok, but I dragged a lot of walleye around because they would release the dipsy when they hit, but not the board release. I found attaching a weight with a rubber band is much more effective.
