no way, last year the major run was in september and all of the steelhead came in and went the whole way up the creeks thats why people couldnt find the "numbers" they saw in years passed in october/november near all the heavily fished sections

all them steelies are up past foley's by 6am this morning... they'll be at 79 in no time on elk

Shh the geniuses think the lake temperature is what sparks the runs, let them believe.

After that storm I heard they are past rt90. The water came up enough for them to take a long run. Those fish got lucky, they beat the snaggers.

The main run, however small it was, did happen in september last year, but the lake also topped out at the low 70s for a high because of the record cold summer we had.

There will probably be some fish get into the streams from that rain, but not in great numbers and any that do go in will be severely stressed in 2 days when the water is 4" deep again and there is no flow. Don't get overly excited. The big runs will still be in October and November, just like every other year.

"A Homewood man led police on an hourlong car chase that ended with a crash injuring three officers.

"The car was driving itself," Wright said. "The car has a GPS. It's a Lincoln Navigator. They drive themselves. I wasn't running nowhere."

There was a large group of fish that came in early september last year, not sure why you call it the "main run" as there were plenty of groups of fresh fish just as numerous later in October and november.

lake temp. did stay low 70's all summer then actually went from 70 up to 76 from labor to 3rd week of september, which did slow any new fish from coming out of the depths.

Lake temp. absolutely does effect the number of fish around early in the season, more so than anything else.  There is always some late august no matter how hot it is, but cooler lake temps draws in some that aren't quite ready to run with the early fish, guaranteed!

I think it's a rule you have to end your posts on here now with "just sayin' "

I was there for the third week of September push.....Nice group of fish that were absolutely surrounded by snaggers by the fallen tree just upstream of the Elk boat launch......Many of those snaggers where wearing camo waders ......Erie snaggers, the best.

Yes, I've accidentally snagged fish.....And without destroying your leader, you have to bring them in reasonably close with fly gear even if your going to break em off.
