ERIE STAMP

How old do you have to be before you have to purchase a erie stamp? My sons want to fish with me and their getting to that age that they can go.

I don't think this is the last year for the stamp, its just the last year the money must be spent on Lake Erie access.  They'll continue to collect stamp money, but after this year some of it can be used to purchase properties and easements away from Lake Erie.

The stamp will never go away(don't want to kill the cash cow)
I do belive that after this coming  year(08) all monies will go into the general fund, to be spent any  way they want to spend it.

    Folks:
The legislation that created the Erie and in 2005 was Act 159 that was signed by the Governor in November, 2005.  It created the Erie stamp effective for the 2005 fishing season and stated that the funds, "shall be deposited into a restricted account within the fish fund for five years".  This means that it will go into the fund through the 2009 fishing season.  Funds deposited through 2009 will be used only for Erie access related issues even if they are not spent by the end of 2009 (they'll still be reserved for that use).  Starting in 2010 the funds, by law, do then go into the fish fund which is one of two main funds for the agency (the other is the boat fund).  Three things can happen at that point.  First, the legislation can be changed to continue the restriction.  Second, if the legislation is not changed the funds could be directed by Commission action to only be spent on Erie access issues.  Third, the funds could be put in the Fish fund and used for general Fish and Boat Commission operations which would include, to an undetermined extent, Erie access.

Out of state lice. in N.Y is $40, no trout or great lake stamp needed. I mean
    great lakes.

Don't think the stamp is bad if you fish the streams or out of a boat. The thing I don't like about it is alot of
people/familys might just visit a place like the peninsula for a few hrs. & catch some gobys.

The gill net lise. was another good one for Pa. Those nets might need replaced soon.

Regardless of what the "legislators" or whoever wants to decide what to do with it, the Erie Stamp proceeds should remain ONLY FOR LAKE ERIE.  Is this more Rendellism?  They raise our income taxes to spend lots of money on schools in Philly?  DO NOT TAKE my money spent to fish Lake Erie and spend it on the Susquehanna!  Make a Susquehanna stamp!

Have you ever left PA?  This state has one of the least amount of toll roads that I have travelled in.  Not that I am a fan of them.  Try driving near NYC.  Make sure you have at least $20 for fares, and make sure $5 of it is in quarters.

    Storm,
I can hit the Susq. in 3 golf shots so spending the money on my section of the Susq. is OK.  Anywhere else is bad.
